Tip for getting Icing to stick
Sometimes it's necessary to cut a cake to a smaller size or you've cut it up to make shapes. Getting the Icing to stick with out having cake crumbs in it can then become tricky and time consuming. Well never fear! Simply dampen a butter knife or icing spatula with some milk and moisten the exposed area. It will keep keep the cake crumbs moist and create an easier surface to place your icing.

Layered Cakes need SUPPORT
This can be done VERY easily by simple placing wooden rods inside. cut them down so they don't show and your layers will have the support they need to keep from sliding all over the place. Also remember that your layers may settle and your rods could then be too long. To prevent this problem, cut your rods just a little shorter than even with the top of your cake..
